Welingkar’s Hybrid Management Programs are designed to make the process of learning more engaging and interactive in conformity with the international educational trends. Welingkar adds value to the program through the integration of face-to-face and online activities to reinforce, complement and elaborate one another.
As a part of Experiential Learning, Welingkar’s PGDM Distance Learning Program organized a Rural Dynamic Workshop to explore Sinnar in Nasik, Maharashtra, taking off on Gandhiji’s inference that the future of India lies in its villages.
This visit to the farmers of Sinnar was to learn how farmers conduct their agricultural practices with the limited water resources. Farmers are educated through personalized training programs on how to minimize resources to maximize profit, liquidity of funds and speedy distribution of products. Fertilizers, pesticides and fungicides are made available through a centralized Agri Mall. Drip irrigation and forms of channelizing water from the dam have been initiated through the local Yuva Mitra Mandal and other social welfare organizations.
Says one of the participants: “This Rural Dynamic Workshop has taught me how farmers are able to be better leaders through the proper use of technology. They are also able to optimize resources to garner better returns.”
Sinnar is a village proud of its exemplary rural development. This lesson in observing how the farming community draws benefits from the limitations around and learns the importance of rural banking, grain storage management, etc is a live example for the students of Welingkar to emulate. Besides, there is much to learn from team work, problem solving, communication, decision making and leadership which are attributes that can be implemented in their rise up the managerial ladder.
